1. Scope
These VPS Hosting Terms apply to all Virtual Private Server services provided by RDPCore, including Starter, High-Performance, Enterprise, and Application VPS (pre-configured) plans. These terms supplement the General Terms and Conditions and prevail in the event of conflict.
2. Service Description
A VPS is a virtualised server instance with dedicated resources (vCPU, RAM, storage) running on shared physical hardware using KVM virtualisation technology. Each VPS operates in an isolated environment with its own operating system and full root/administrator access.
Resources allocated to your VPS (CPU cores, RAM, storage, bandwidth) are as specified in your selected plan at the time of order. Resource specifications are subject to the fair-use provisions described below.
3. Provisioning and Access
3.1 Activation
VPS services are typically provisioned automatically within minutes of successful payment. In some cases (e.g., manual fraud review, custom configurations), provisioning may take up to twenty-four (24) hours.
3.2 Root Access
You are granted full root (Linux) or Administrator (Windows) access to your VPS. You have sole responsibility for the management, security, and configuration of your server, including but not limited to operating system updates, firewall configuration, software installation, and access control.
3.3 Operating System
You may install any operating system compatible with our virtualisation platform from our available templates, or upload your own ISO image where supported. We do not provide support for customer-installed operating systems beyond initial provisioning.
4. Resources and Fair Use
4.1 Resource Allocation
RAM and storage allocated to your plan are dedicated to your VPS instance. CPU and other compute resources are allocated to your VPS and may be shared at the physical host level. Fair usage policies apply to ensure overall platform stability. You may use your allocated resources up to the limits of your plan without restriction, subject to the Acceptable Use Policy.
4.2 Bandwidth
Bandwidth allocations are as specified in your plan. Where a plan includes “unmetered” or “unlimited” bandwidth, this is subject to fair use. Sustained usage that significantly exceeds the average for your plan tier, or that degrades network quality for other customers, may result in throttling or a request to upgrade. We will notify you before taking any restrictive action where practicable.
4.3 Prohibited Resource Usage
The following activities are not permitted on VPS plans unless explicitly stated in the plan description:
- Cryptocurrency mining, farming, or plotting;
- Running TOR exit nodes unless explicitly permitted under a designated plan;
- Operating public proxy or VPN relay services for anonymous third-party traffic unless explicitly permitted under a designated plan;
- Sustained resource usage that negatively impacts other virtual machines on the same physical host, which may result in temporary limitations or intervention;
- Running nested hypervisors (Type-1 virtualisation inside your VPS).
5. Customer Responsibility
5.1 Server Management
VPS services are provided as unmanaged unless a managed add-on is purchased. You are solely responsible for:
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining all software;
- Applying security patches and operating system updates;
- Configuring firewalls and access controls;
- Monitoring resource usage and performance;
- Maintaining backups of your data (see Section 6).
We provide infrastructure-level support only (network connectivity, hypervisor availability, hardware issues). We do not provide support for software installed by you, including web servers, databases, control panels, or custom applications. We do not provide troubleshooting, debugging, or performance optimisation for customer-installed software.
5.2 Security
You are responsible for securing your VPS against unauthorised access. If your VPS is compromised and used for malicious activity (spam, DDoS, malware distribution), we may suspend the service immediately in accordance with our Acceptable Use Policy. You remain liable for all activity originating from your VPS regardless of whether it was authorised by you.
6. Backups and Snapshots
6.1 Snapshots
Each VPS plan includes one (1) complimentary snapshot slot. Snapshots are point-in-time images of your VPS stored on our infrastructure. Snapshots are provided on a best-effort basis and are not a substitute for independent backups.
6.2 Backup Responsibility
You are solely responsible for maintaining independent backups of your data. We strongly recommend implementing an off-site backup strategy. RDPCore is not liable for any data loss, regardless of cause, including data loss resulting from hardware failure, user error, or service termination, except where directly attributable to our proven gross negligence.
6.3 Backup Add-ons
Additional backup storage may be available as a paid add-on. Where purchased, backup add-ons are subject to their own storage limits and retention policies as described at the time of purchase.
7. IP Addresses
Each VPS is allocated at least one (1) IPv4 address and, where available, an IPv6 address or subnet. Additional IP addresses may be purchased subject to availability and justification in accordance with RIPE NCC policies.
IP addresses remain the property of RDPCore and are reclaimed upon service termination. Please refer to our IP Address Services Terms for full details.
8. Upgrades and Downgrades
You may upgrade your VPS plan at any time through your client portal. Upgrades are typically applied within minutes and may require a brief reboot. The price difference for the remainder of the current billing period will be charged pro-rata.
Downgrades are available at the next renewal date only. No pro-rata refund is provided for the current billing period when downgrading. Downgrades may not be possible if your current resource usage exceeds the limits of the target plan (e.g., disk usage exceeds the lower plan’s storage allocation).
9. Reinstallation and Recovery
You may reinstall your VPS operating system at any time through your client portal. Reinstallation will permanently and irreversibly delete all data on the VPS. Reinstallation is irreversible and cannot be undone under any circumstances. It is your responsibility to take backups before initiating a reinstall.
If your VPS becomes inaccessible due to a configuration error on your part, we may offer recovery assistance on a best-effort basis, but we are under no obligation to do so. Recovery assistance may be subject to a support fee.
10. Suspension and Termination
In addition to the suspension and termination provisions in our General Terms, VPS services may be suspended immediately if:
- Your VPS is involved in an active network attack (outbound DDoS, spam, brute-force);
- Your VPS is consuming resources in a manner that impacts other customers on the same physical host or poses a risk to infrastructure stability;
- We receive a valid abuse report requiring urgent action.
Upon termination, all data on your VPS will typically be permanently deleted within forty-eight (48) hours. We are under no obligation to provide data recovery after termination, and backups are not retained after termination unless explicitly stated otherwise.
11. Service Level
VPS services are covered by our Service Level Agreement with a 99.5% monthly availability commitment. The SLA covers infrastructure availability, including hypervisor availability, storage access, and network connectivity, and does not cover issues caused by customer-installed software or configurations.
