1. Scope
These Domain Registration Terms apply to all domain name registration, renewal, and transfer services provided by RDPCore. These terms supplement the General Terms and Conditions and prevail in the event of conflict.
2. Registrar Relationship
RDPCore provides domain registration services through an ICANN-accredited registrar partner. All domain registrations are subject to:
- The policies and agreements of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN);
- The terms of service of our upstream registrar partner;
- The policies of the relevant domain registry for your chosen TLD (top-level domain);
- These Domain Registration Terms and our General Terms.
In the event of conflict between these terms and ICANN or registry policies, the ICANN/registry policies shall prevail as they are binding on all registrars and resellers.
3. Registration
3.1 Availability
Domain name availability is checked in real time against registry databases. However, availability at the time of search does not guarantee successful registration. A domain may become unavailable between the time of search and the completion of the registration process.
3.2 Registrant Information
You must provide accurate and complete registrant contact information (name, address, email, phone) at the time of registration. This information is required by ICANN and the relevant registry. You agree to keep this information current and accurate at all times.
Providing false or inaccurate registrant information may result in suspension or cancellation of the domain by the registry or ICANN, without refund.
3.3 WHOIS and Privacy
Registrant information may be published in public WHOIS databases in accordance with ICANN and registry policies. Personal data may be redacted in accordance with GDPR and applicable data protection laws. Where available, we offer WHOIS privacy protection to redact personal information from public WHOIS records. WHOIS privacy does not exempt you from providing accurate registrant data to the registry.
Certain TLDs or registries may not support WHOIS privacy, or may require disclosure of registrant data in specific circumstances (e.g., legal proceedings, UDRP disputes).
3.4 Verification
ICANN requires verification of the registrant’s email address. You will receive a verification email upon registration or when updating your contact details. Failure to verify your email within the specified timeframe (typically fifteen days) may result in suspension or cancellation of the domain by the registry until verification is completed.
4. Renewal
4.1 Term and Expiry
Domains are registered for a fixed term (typically one year, unless a longer period is selected). It is your sole responsibility to ensure timely renewal before the expiration date. We will send renewal reminders, but failure to receive or act on these reminders does not relieve you of the responsibility to renew.
4.2 Auto-Renewal
Domains are set to auto-renew by default. If a valid payment method is on file, we will attempt to process renewal automatically before the expiration date. You may disable auto-renewal through your client portal at any time.
4.3 Expired Domains
If a domain is not renewed by its expiration date, the following may occur depending on the registry and TLD. Timelines vary by TLD and are controlled by the registry, not RDPCore:
- Grace period: A short period (typically 0–45 days depending on the TLD) during which the domain may still be renewed at the standard price.
- Redemption period: After the grace period, the domain enters a redemption phase where recovery may be possible but subject to a significantly higher fee charged by the registry.
- Deletion: After the redemption period, the domain is released back to the public pool and may be registered by anyone.
We are not liable for any loss, damage, or inconvenience resulting from a domain expiring due to non-renewal, including loss of the domain name to a third party or failure of automatic billing attempts.
5. Transfers
5.1 Transfer In
You may transfer existing domains to RDPCore from another registrar, subject to ICANN transfer policies and any lock periods imposed by the current registrar. Transfers typically extend the domain registration by one year from the current expiry date.
5.2 Transfer Out
You may transfer your domain away from RDPCore to another registrar at any time, subject to the following:
- The domain must be at least sixty (60) days old (ICANN requirement);
- The domain must not be within sixty (60) days of a registrant contact change;
- The domain must be unlocked (you can unlock it through your client portal);
- You must obtain the EPP/authorisation code from your client portal.
We will not obstruct or unreasonably delay outbound transfers. No fee is charged for transferring a domain away from RDPCore. We are not responsible for delays caused by the gaining registrar.
5.3 Transfer Disputes
If a transfer is initiated without the registrant’s authorisation, we will cooperate with the gaining registrar and ICANN to resolve the dispute in accordance with the ICANN Transfer Dispute Resolution Policy.
6. DNS Services
We provide DNS hosting for domains registered through us at no additional charge. You may use our nameservers or configure custom nameservers through your client portal. We do not guarantee the availability of our DNS service under our SLA — DNS availability depends on multiple third-party systems and is provided on a best-effort basis, and may be unavailable due to factors beyond our control.
7. Domain Disputes
Domain name disputes are governed by the applicable dispute resolution policies:
- gTLDs (.com, .net, .org, etc.): Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy (UDRP) administered by ICANN.
- .uk domains: Dispute Resolution Service (DRS) operated by Nominet UK.
- Other ccTLDs: The dispute resolution policy of the relevant country-code registry.
You are solely responsible for any disputes arising from your domain registration. RDPCore acts as a technical intermediary and bears no liability in domain disputes. We are not responsible for legal costs or outcomes of any domain dispute. We will comply with decisions issued by approved dispute resolution providers or courts of competent jurisdiction, which may include suspension, transfer, or cancellation of a domain.
8. Refunds
Domain registrations, renewals, and transfers are non-refundable once processed, including cases where a domain is subsequently suspended or seized by a registry or authority. This is because domain transactions are submitted to the registry and are irreversible once completed. Please refer to our Refund Policy for full details.
If a domain registration fails due to a technical error on our part and the domain is not successfully registered, a full refund will be issued.
9. Limitations
- We do not guarantee that a requested domain name will be successfully registered, as availability depends on the registry.
- We are not responsible for the content, use, or misuse of any domain registered through us.
- We are not liable for any loss resulting from domain expiry, transfer, suspension, or cancellation, whether caused by non-renewal, dispute resolution, registry action, or any other reason beyond our reasonable control, including loss of business, revenue, goodwill, search rankings, SEO value, or email services associated with the domain.
- Domain pricing is subject to change based on registry fee adjustments. We will notify you of price changes before your next renewal where possible.
10. Your Obligations
- Maintain accurate and current registrant contact information at all times;
- Respond promptly to verification emails and registry communications forwarded to you;
- Ensure your domain name does not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party;
- Comply with all applicable ICANN policies, registry policies, and these Terms;
- Renew your domain before expiry or accept the consequences of non-renewal.
11. Domain Suspension
We reserve the right to suspend, lock, or restrict a domain where required by:
- ICANN policies or registrar requirements;
- Court orders or valid legal requests;
- Verified abuse reports (phishing, malware, fraud associated with the domain);
- Registry-initiated actions or compliance requirements.
Such actions may be taken without prior notice where required by the relevant authority or policy. We will inform you of the reason for suspension where we are legally permitted to do so.
